- Soil is frozen all year
- no trees, growing season is too short
- Plant life- grass, shrubs
- Animals: Foxes, snow owls, hares, muskox, caribou
Forest
- Temperature is on average 20-25
-Soil is nutrient-poor and acidic-Forest grow where it's not too hot not too cold-lots of nutrients and water-Animals: moose, deer, bears, wolves, foxes, rabbits, squirrels as well as plenty birds and reptiles
Savannah and Grasslands
- Grassland and Savanna:*Grassland and Savannah are related and often intermixed biomes typically dominated by grasses
- Savannah is located in ''Africa''! Savannahs of one sort or another cover almost half the surface of Africa.
- True grassland supports few if any woody plants, while Savanna include varying proportions or shrubs and trees
