Speech Writing: Leadership !

 Title : Leadership !

How can I become a better leader ? First is knowing what a leader is, leadership is an important role in life and school. A leader steps up, and take that role of leadership. So now you know what a leader is, what are the key points to become one ?

Confident leader . Having the courage to talk in front of a big crowd or an audience is key on being confident. You can also be confident by, leading the right way with clear instructions.

Listening and including others . What’s a leader that doesn't listen or include other peer’s ideas. While people are sharing their ideas, a Leader must listen. They must include others, and make sure everyone has a point of view.

My Speech Scores !
A patient leader. Keeping your levels down and taking it easy on others is key. Waiting while others may take time to adjust, and by keeping your temper cool if people don't do the right thing. You can be patient by, just waiting while other people catch up.

So now you know, the few key points on becoming a leader. It takes confidence, patience, listening and including skills.

Thats all it takes to become a great leader.

Leadership Camp 2021 - Reflection

Yr 8 Kauaeranga Valley Leadership Camp 2021

Kia ora, Malo e lelei, Talofa Lava and Many Greetings to all , as you should know the Yr 8's from Team 5 went on our Leadership Camp to Kauaeranga Valley Christian Camp ( KVCC ) Before I tell you all about our Camp, I would like to say a big thank - you to all the parent helpers and teachers that came to our camp to make sure we had a blast and keeping us safe. A big thank you to Mrs Flavell and Mrs Tele'a  who prepared our meetings that helped us be organise and ready for camp . Of course a BIG thank you to the staff at KVCC that also helped us by stepping up, getting us out of our comfort zone and preparing meals for us everyday .

Going to this Leadership Camp was like no other, no camp like this had amazing and challenging activities like flying fox where we have to shoot ball into a big bucket for points . Paintball, Go Carts, Railway Jiggers, Camp Search, Axe Throwing, Air Riffles and The Cross fit games . There are many activities that I can choose from to mark as my Favourite Activity but I would have to pick Flying Fox with Mr Moran because on my first go I got the ball in the bucket which was a great experience . If I could choose to say which activity I found Challenging or I disliked I would choose axe throwing  because it was one of the hardest task to do because  axe was really small and hard to throw but at least I gave it a go and finally at the end got my target .

Yr 7 Step Up Programme 2020

 Yr 7 Step Up Programme

Last week while the Yr 8's went to Kauaeranga Valley Camp the Yr 7's held a step up programme at school. This programme was to help the Yr 7's to step up and be leaders like our Yr 8's. We had heaps of fun doing this amazing programme, here is what we did on the 1st day....

Once the Yr 8's left, we had to meet in the streets for the teachers to tell us what we are doing and our time schedules. After that we got splitted into three groups 1- Mrs Moala, 2- Mrs Illaoa, 3- Ms Tipene, I was in Mrs Moala's Class. Once we sorted our groups we had to come up with a team name, posters, chants and a girl and boy team captain. Our team name was Thunder and our team captains were Nina and Mohammed. Once we came up with our chants we had to present it to the other teams which were Duck Life and Strikers.

After presenting our chants to everyone we had to go back into our classes and start eating our morning tea. After morning tea play time we came back into the street and started our rotations with our teachers. After doing that it was time to eat our Lunch, after play time we had to come back into the street and start our sports rotation. Each class had to split into A's and B's groups. I was in 1B and we played 3A in bull rush and that was our 1st day of the step up programme
