Measurement!!

WALT: ESTIMATE MEASUREMENTS AND READ DIFFERENT SCALES

Today for our maths task, we are focusing on our Measurements and what they are:  kg, g, mm, cm etc. To start us off first we had to check the measurements in the story Mrs Tele'a wrote. The measurements in the story were purposely wrong, so it is up to us to make it correct. After that, there are 3 different slides that are about estimating the measurements that were given, we had to try and guess it's measurement. Now my favourite activity of the maths slides, which was Ordering Measurements. First we had to guess the length and mass of each one then we had to order it from shortest to longest (1-4) and lightest to heaviest (1-4). For the last slide we had to go on this link that takes us to this reading scale quiz. There are 6 levels in total which is all about reading different types of scales. Doing this really helped me practice reading scales, ones I knew already and many different ones. Thank you Mrs Tele'a for another wonderful and fun Maths Slides today!

Maths Warm up

Task Description: Before starting our maths task about measurement Mrs Tele'a gave us a warm up activity. First was addition, we had to +7  on each number, e.g 7+2=9 . Second was mixed math operations (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication). Last but not least some extra math problems like was is the prefix (start of a word) for kilogram, kilometre, etc. Square room perimeter problems and math riddles. The thing I like about maths warm ups is that it gives our brains enough energy and boost for the real things. Thank you Mrs Tele'a for making this for us.

Awesome things we did in Lockdown- Pie Graph

Awesome things Room 3 did in Lockdown- Pie Graph

Today for our maths lesson, we had to do a Lockdown Diary and one of the pages told us to write down 5 awesome things we did during Lockdown. As a class we each told our things to the class and then  Mrs Tele'a tallied up the results and now we had to convert it to either a Normal Graph or Pie Graph. Here are the Results of what we did during Lockdown, the popular one was of course Spending Time with Family and that should be on everyone's list because spending time with family is the best thing in the world. The second popular thing was Cooking/Baking food, the third most popular thing was Sleeping in, early, late and resting all the time. What was your 5 favourite things you did during Lockdown?  Hope You Enjoy!
