Immersion Assembly T4

 Immersion Assembly T4

Malo e lelei and welcome back to my blog. Today I'll be sharing you all the things that we did at Immersion Assembly on Monday 12th. The korero for  term 4 that our principal (Mr Burt) announced was 'ART ALIVE '. For the last term of 2020
Pt England will be learning about different places of Art that there Team Leaders have decided to do. Let's take a look at each different Teams and on what they will be doing this term based on the topic ' ART ALIVE '.

TEAM 1:
The teachers of Team 1 (Mrs Hockly, Mrs Squires, Mrs Lal, Mrs Shirley, Whaea Saf and Mrs Dwyer) shared that their team will be looking at famous paintings. Team 1 shared a video of each teacher copying other famous artists, most of them I already knew but some of them were new to me.Good Job Team 1 Teachers!

TEAM 2:
The teachers of Team 2 ( Ms Gaston, Mrs Carter, Ms Teleso, Miss Davis) also shared what they will be doing. Team  2 also shared a video of Ms Gaston who was coming up with ways to make the teachers of team 2 into art. Ms Gaston used crayons, apps and paper (shapes) to create the teachers. My favourite was when she was doing one of the teachers using crayons because one half of her face was colourful and bright  and the other was grey and dark. Good Job Team 2 Teachers!

TEAM 3:
The teachers of Team 3 (Mrs Carruthers, Miss Scalan, Ms Tumahai, Mrs King, Ms Lordache) shared a video of them using paint guns filled with tie dye spraying a large white blanket. This was my favourite because once they finished they showed us the final result which had a painted rainbow onto it. Good Job Team 3 Teachers!

TEAM 4:
The teachers of Team 4 ( Mrs Sio, Miss Tuia, Miss Parrant, Miss West, Mr Goodwin) shared that Team 4 will be learning about cultural patterns. Very Exciting! Good Job Team 4 Teachers!

TEAM 5:
The teachers of Team 5 ( Mrs Tele'a, Mrs Moala, Ms Tapuke, Mrs Stone, Mrs Illaoa) did an amazing performance. The play was about a gallery and people looking at it. Some of the teachers were posed as real life paintings.

Why do we need school?

Why do we need school?

Introduction:

Have you ever wondered why students have to go to school everyday? Firstly, school is the place of education and socialisation, there are many countries that have laws that is compulsory for students to attend school.Well, think for a moment while these thoughts run through your head on why school is important to attend to everyday.

Body paragraph 1:

School is a place for students to learn. Learning is the key to unlock the minds of each student so that they can push themselves to do better in their school academics. Without learning the mind can’t do stuff like thinking and working, but with subjects in school it will improve each one of us in different ways of learning which will help us later in life. Learning at school you’ll be able to do many things that link to school academics.

Body paragraph 2:

School helps you to get a great job. Not only does school help you in learning but it also helps you to get the qualification of a job that you seem interested in. For example if you dream about being a doctor later in life you could take the subjects that require to be a doctor like science. Subjects don’t only require to get into jobs but also life choices like learning to be on time, respect the people around you and listening to the person in charge.

Body paragraph 3:

School gives us a chance to socialise with other people. The real reasons why students love coming to school because all their mates are there. Even if your new to the school there are always people that love socialising with you. In school they also practice team building skills so that you can work together as a team. Not only do you work together but you could become friends with your team.

Conclusion:

In conclusion school is really important to have in our society because school could change any life of a student, without it there wouldn’t be any sense in life. School is important because we learn, get a job and socialise.

Swimming Lessons@pes

 Swimming Lessons Term 4!

This morning Team 5 have been discussing about the up-coming swimming lessons that we will be having. Each class will get 4 weeks of swimming lessons which will start on every Wednesdays. Our first lesson is tomorrow, I'm really excited to begin swimming again. The teachers will be holding a competition for all of the classes in Team 5, they are planning that the class with the most swimmers attending to the classes will get a whole afternoon off. Let's go Room 3!!! It's really important to learn the safety rules about swimming and actually learning to swim. Here are 3 reasons why learning to swim is very important.
  1. It maintains your heart rate and takes away stress from your body
  2. It helps you to become more familiar with swimming
  3. You get to swim with people so that you aren't missing out
