E hia enei? How many are there?

E hia enei?: How many are there?

Today in this week's Te Reo Maori Lesson, the WALT is: Ask and answer questions about numbers.
For this task we had to answer questions that uses numbers but we also had to answer in Maori. For our creative task we had to use a Maori dictionary and make up our own questions and answer them ourselves in a conversation kinda way. We either had to do it in a poster or comic strip, I chose to do it in a poster. We had to do at least 5 different objects, Here are mine! Enjoy!

Message to (Mr) Russell Burt

Mr Burt's Special Queen's Merit award acknowledgement!!!

Today the 12th of Friday 2020, at our first assembly together after the covid-19, we celebrated and acknowledged our lovely, hardworking and kind principle Mr Burt and of course Mrs Burt as well because she stood next to Mr Burt and helped him all the way.  We celebrated him today at assembly because our amazing principle received a very special award which is the Queens order of merit award. This is a really big thing for Mr Burt, he definitely deserves the acknowledgement of his hard work he does for our teachers, students, parents, whanau and Mrs Burt.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Burt!!

I would also like to thank you for every thing you have done for Pt England like teaching us the right way of life, being who you are and taking care of students, staff and whanau. You are very helpful in different ways like providing students with what they need, helping your staff if they need a hand and help our whanau take care of us, students. You are a hero, warrior and part of our family, I hope that you and Mrs Burt will stay healthy and safe, keep being who you amazing people are and leading the way of life to every single one.
Kindly Regards Hannah (Rm 3)

Taha Wairua

Taha Wairua

Why do  we do this every morning? : Karakia, Mihi, Himene?

Welcome back blog readers, so today for our Te Whare Tapa Wha work, we were looking into Taha Wairua. Mrs Tele'a challenged us by working in groups or pairs and answering this question: Why do  we do Karakia, Mihi, Himene every morning?  As a class with each of our ideas this is what we came up with:
  • To connect to Atua, greater power source
  • Connect- Remember our ancestors, Whanau
  • Know where we are from
  • Build confidence to speak and represent ourselves and whanau
  • To get ready for the day and as well as our future
  • To grow closer to God and Jesus
Here is a photo of my group Tatia and Trinity so make sure to check out their blogs as well.
Here is my group!! :)
